Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Techniques (CMRT), Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT) and the Viscera

“In the philosophy of Sacral Occipital Technique you accept the patient for what (it) is today. Your goal is to remedy each situation as best you can. It is our goal to make each (animal) as comfortable as possible for (its) stay upon this planet. We do not seek perfection for all. We seek perfection to each individual’s ability to interpret his highest abilities in each organ and tissue of (its) body.”

Major Bertrand De Jarnette, DC

To Dr. De Jarnette (the developer of SOT), who graduated from the Dearborn College of Osteopathy in 1922 and the Nebraska College of Chiropractic in 1924, the Chiropractic Philosophy promised a correction of all subluxations and ailments, both chronic as well as acute. “The vertebral subluxation is a provable cause of many of humanity’s miseries...The vertebral subluxation complex is a primary cause of pain and disease... Adjustment of compensation may produce adverse effects because you may have destroyed the thing the body created to keep it as comfortable as possible in the presence of the primary vertebral subluxation. Sacro Occipital Technic has procedures to allow you to uncover the primary vertebral subluxation complex.”

In this course we will begin to explore the science and theory behind that part of SOT, Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique, used to diagnosis and treat visceral ailments. Research and experience have established that these human techniques correlate well with our quadruped patients as a powerful tool in the integrated treatment of visceral conditions.
